Update: The Toronto Raptors acquired forward Julian Wright from the New Orleans Hornets on Wednesday in exchange for guard Marco Belinelli. The six-foot-eight, 225-pound Wright averaged 8.1 points and 4.6 rebounds in 68 games with New Orleans last season.
Fantasy Impact: Belinelli spends just one year in Toronto after being brought in for Devean George last offseason.
Update: The Dallas Mavericks have agreed to a one-year deal with PF Tim Thomas. The deal will be finalized on Thursday pending the completion of a physical.
Fantasy Impact: Thomas will most likely come off the bench to spell Dirk Nowitzki, but should not be counted on as a guy who is going to be a big contributor offensively.
Update: Former Nets team president Rod Thorn will be the next president of the Sixers, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports. Wojnarowski also said that current GM Ed Stefanski will be staying on board.
Fantasy Impact: Thorn just stepped down from the Nets GM job which was filled with former Sixers President and GM Billy King. Looks like the Sixers are picking up the old Nets brass, but most likely wishing they never cut ties with Billy King who now has a fresh start in New Jersey with a ton of cap space.
Update: Indiana Pacers forward Troy Murphy was traded to the Nets on Wednesday, part of a four-team deal. The Nets sent Courtney Lee to the Rockets as part of the trade.
Fantasy Impact: Murphy has an expiring contract which might be what new GM Billy King was after in this trade, positioning himself to have a trade chip closer to the trade deadline. For the time being, Murphy will be slotted ahead of first round draft pick Derrick Favors.
Update: The New York Knicks have signed free agent (SG) Roger Mason Jr. Mason is the latest addition to the Knicks who have five new players already added to the team this season. Fantasy Impact: The Knicks run a high tempo offense so Mason could be a factor in that sense, but any other reason you may want to stay away from drafting him.
Update: Pacers forward Danny Granger's xray's came back negative on his ring finger of his shooting hand. Granger hit his finger on the rim while practicing with the U.S. team on Tuesday and feared the finger was broken, but it is only dislocated and he can return whenever he feels ready. Fantasy Impact: Granger is the best player on the Pacers roster and is set to have a huge season all around so any setback could be a huge loss. This doesn't seem like a major issue so draft Granger as you normally would.
Update: Lebron James said on his Twitter account on Tuesday "Don't think for one min that I haven't been taking mental notes of everyone taking shots at me this summer. And I mean everyone!" Fantasy Impact: Lebron games always seems to play better when he is criticized of heckled by people, so this is a good sign for anyone who has the #1 pick in their fantasy basketball league......look for a huge year from Lebron.
Update: Dallas Mavericks (G) Rodrigue Beaubois needs surgery on his broken foot, and is expected to be out 2 to 3 months.
Fantasy Impact: The Mavericks had planned to move Caron Butler to small forward and start Beaubois at shooting guard, but those plans have been put on hold. Beaubois still could be ready for the start of the regular season, and would be a good sleeper pick during the draft.
Update: Dallas Mavericks guard Roddy Beaubois will have surgery on Friday to place a pin his broken left foot, and is expected to miss 2-3 months.
Fantasy Impact: Beaubois will be questionable for the start of the season and he will most likely be eased into the starting lineup when he returns.
Update: The NBA could decide on Wednesday whether to void Isiah Thomas' consulting job with the Knicks, and there is a growing consensus that the deal won't stand. Thomas is in violation of NBA rules which prohibit team employees from recruiting high school players, which Thomas would have to do as coach at FIU.
Fantasy Impact: The NBA apparently has an issue with Thomas working in both the NBA and in College Basketball. It remains to be seen whether or not they allow this to go through.
